EZ2ST

Modifiers

Modifiers (the games call them effectors) change how the notes are arranged or shown. They don't change how a play is scored, with two exceptions: auto options (auto-played notes get no judgement) and 2nd TraX's PUZZLE MODE. Which ones a score records is on the Effectors page.

Title-screen commands: insert a credit, then press the key buttons in the order shown while the title screen is up. The numbers are the ten key buttons from left to right (0 = the tenth); a command stays on for the whole credit.

Versions

EZ2AC : FINAL EX, EZ2AC -FINAL-, EZ2AC : Time Traveler, EZ2AC : Night Traveler

These share the same modifiers. The only difference: F RANDOM is in 7K Standard only from FINAL EX on (FINAL, TIME TRAVELER and NIGHT TRAVELER have it in 10K Maniac only).

Speed

Any speed from ×0.5 to ×9.99, changed at any time, even during play: effector button 3 slows down and 4 speeds up by 0.25; hold START and press a blue key to change it by 0.1, or hold START and turn the turntable to change it by 0.01. In 14K Maniac the 1P pedal slows down and the 2P pedal speeds up; in 7K Standard hold START while pressing the effector buttons. Nothing is hidden.

Random and mirror (one at a time)

  • R RANDOM: shuffles the key lanes
  • S RANDOM: shuffles every key note on its own
  • PS RANDOM: the lanes are reshuffled every measure
  • F RANDOM: shuffles the left and right hands separately (10K Maniac; 7K Standard too in FINAL EX)
  • M RANDOM: shuffles the keys together with the turntable and pedal lanes
  • H RANDOM: like S RANDOM, but including the turntable and pedal
  • N MIRROR: mirrors the note lanes
  • A MIRROR: mirrors everything, a true mirror of the 7K layout (7K Standard)
  • K MIRROR: mirrors the key lanes only
  • SP MIRROR: swaps the turntable and pedal lanes (not in 10K or 14K Maniac)

Fade (one at a time)

  • FADE OUT: notes gradually fade away as they fall
  • FADE IN: notes appear gradually as they fall
  • BLINK: notes blink as they fall

Scroll (one at a time)

  • REVERSE: notes fall upward, with the judgement line at the top
  • 4D: each lane scrolls at its own speed
  • 5D: each note scrolls at its own speed, so notes can overtake each other

EZ2ST doesn't record these: the results screen only shows them when no fade is on.

Auto (one at a time)

  • AUTO S: the game plays the turntable notes (14K Maniac: both turntables)
  • AUTO P: the game plays the pedal notes
  • AUTO SP: the game plays the turntable and pedal notes
  • AUTO LS / AUTO RS: the game plays the left or right turntable (14K Maniac)
  • MODE SWITCH: the pedal plays the turntable notes (TURNTABLE mode; not an auto option)

Auto-played notes get no judgement and count for nothing, so auto scores earn no DJ Points.

EZ2CATCH

  • Reverse scratch: reverses the turntable direction
  • 2/3 EXTREME: a smaller catcher; no score bonus (FINAL and FINAL EX, hidden command)
  • MODE EXTREME (2/3): a smaller catcher, and each catch scores a combo bonus instead of a flat 300 (NIGHT TRAVELER, effector menu)
  • BGA DARK: darkens the BGA (FINAL EX)

Display and sound

  • VISUAL: turns the BGA off
  • BLACK PANEL: makes the panel behind the notes solid black, so the BGA doesn't show through
  • BASS / TREBLE boost: sound only, switched during play

EZ2DJ 2nd TraX

Chosen on song select: effector buttons 1-4 each cycle one option, and each mode has its own four.

Speed

  • Street, Club and Space Mix: changed during play with effector buttons 3 and 4, from ×0.1 up to ×99 (1st TRACKS SE's hidden speeds are normal ones here).
  • Ruby Mix: ×1.5 or ×2, with effector button 1 on song select.
  • Radio Mix: ×1.5, ×2, ×4 or ×10, with effector button 3 on channel select.

Nothing is hidden.

Street, Club, Space and Radio Mix

  • FADE OUT: notes gradually fade away as they fall
  • FADE IN: notes appear gradually as they fall
  • BLINK: notes blink as they fall
  • RANDOM: shuffles the key lanes
  • SUPER RANDOM: shuffles every note on its own
  • MANIC RANDOM: shuffles the keys together with the turntable and pedal lanes (not in Radio Mix)
  • 4D MIX: each lane scrolls at its own speed (not in Radio Mix)
  • 5D MIX: each note scrolls at its own speed (not in Radio Mix)
  • WIDE VISUAL: removes the gear background and gauge, so more of the BGA shows

Ruby Mix

  • COMBO EFFECT: plays an animation every 5 combo; looks only
  • PUZZLE MODE: some notes become special notes; hitting one switches an option on during the song (random, fade, 4D, ×0.5 or ×2 speed, gauge up and others), missing one breaks the combo and costs gauge. Scores played with it show a PUZZLE tag on EZ2ST.
  • WIDE VISUAL: removes the gear background and gauge, so more of the BGA shows

Sound

  • CUTOFF: effector buttons 1 and 2 cut the bass or treble during play (Street, Club and Space Mix)

EZ2DJ The 1st Tracks Special Edition

Chosen on song select (effector buttons 1-4), plus title-screen commands. Club Mix offers only MIRROR and SPEED SENSOR.

Speed

  • ×2, ×3 or ×4, with effector button 1 on song select.
  • Hidden: ×0.1, ×0.3, ×7 and ×10. Unlock them with the title-screen command 3333333333-5 (key 3 ten times, then key 5); they're then added to the speed choices.

Song select

  • HIDDEN: notes vanish at a fixed line before they reach the judgement line
  • SUDDEN: notes only appear from a fixed line partway down
  • MIRROR: mirrors the lanes
  • RANDOM: shuffles the lanes
  • SPEED SENSOR: the turntable's sound changes pitch with how fast you spin it; sound only

Title-screen commands

  • CROSS SCRATCH: 1P plays the 2P turntable and 2P the 1P turntable (command 777-8888888-99999)

Sound

  • BOOST: boosts the keysounds and backing track
  • AUDIENCE: a crowd cheers every 100 combo, and groans when the combo breaks
